Information We Collect
Information you give us: your name, email address, institution, credentials, specialty, location, and any message you write when you submit a contact form, a membership interest form, a newsletter signup, or a donation.
Member account information: if you hold a member portal account, we store your profile details, the posts and messages you create in the member forum, and your event RSVPs.
Donation information: donations are processed by PayPal. We receive the donor name, email address, amount, and transaction identifier so we can issue a receipt. We never see or store your full card or bank details.
Basic technical information: our hosting provider records standard server logs, including IP address and browser type, to keep the site secure and available.
How We Use Information
To respond to your inquiry, process your membership interest, or acknowledge and receipt your donation.
To operate the member portal, including the directory, forum, messaging, events, and resource library.
To send Academy newsletters and announcements, where you have asked to receive them.
To maintain the security and integrity of the site.
How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising purposes.
We share information only with the service providers that operate this site on our behalf — our hosting provider, our database provider, our email delivery provider, our payment processor, and our spam-prevention provider — and only to the extent needed to deliver the service.
Member directory entries are visible to other signed-in members, and members who have opted into the public roster are visible on the public Members page.
We may disclose information where required by law.
Your Choices
You can unsubscribe from Academy emails at any time using the link in any newsletter.
You can ask us to correct or delete your personal information, or to remove your entry from the member directory, by writing to us at the address below. We will respond within a reasonable time.
Data Retention & Security
We keep personal information for as long as needed to serve the purposes described above, and as long as required for tax, accounting, and legal obligations — donation records in particular are retained as required for charitable-giving recordkeeping.
Information is stored in access-controlled systems and transmitted over encrypted connections. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children's Privacy
This site is intended for clinicians, researchers, and adult members of the public. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
